My dad was a veteran of WWI. He served with the allied forces in Italy, Germany, and France. I had a brother-in-law in WWII. Another brother-in-law in the Korean War. My son-in-law just came home from Iraq last week.
Today at our morning church service we were singing ‘My Country Tis Of Thee, Sweet Land Of Liberty….’
As the congeration was singing I began to think of all the things I was thankful for….family, friends, freedom. I know America has its problems, and it grieves me to see the political mess we are in, but I still believe it is the greatest nation on earth.
I’d rather live in the good ol USA than any other country. I’m proud to be an American. I gladly stand and salute the flag…..and I’m not ashamed of the tears when old glory passes by and we honor those that gave their service and their lives to keep us free.
So, this Memorial Day why don’t you take just a moment to bow you head and say a ‘thank you’ for the freedom you enjoy before it is taken away.
And…if you don’t like America why don’t you just move on to a place you do like…..and thats the truth!

Let Freedom Ring…

Well said. That is the spirit true Americans should have. The country is going through the drain but still talk about the good old USA.
Sure. I can tell you what is wrong with the good old USA and that there is no more good old USA. But that would make you say I don’t like the USA.
Your dad served in World War I. Did he ever tell you about the last day of World War I? Did he tell you how many people died that day?
Your brother in law served in World War II. Where? In Europe or in the Far East? Did he serve under Patton or under MacArthur?
Patton died a week after a severe car accident. President Truman was very happy with his death. Now he got rid of a trouble maker.
Douglas MacArthur was kicked out of the army by President Truman. Was he serving the country as he did that?
After Patton and MacArthur there was no more American general that could win a war. America lost all wars since World War II.
Korea was lost. Thanks to Truman. Vietnam was lost. Thanks to Kennedy. Even Somalia was lost. American soldiers fighting bows and arrows!
Iraq. That war is lost. An other nation has fought a similar war and they won. Number of casualties? Zero. No soldier of them was killed.
But your bright American generals do not know. They haven’t figured out how to win the war in Iraq. More than 4,000 soldiers killed.
The war in Iraq is lost because of military reasons. The war in Iraq is also lost because of financial reasons. America cannot afford the war.
The war in Iraq costs two billion US dollar per week. America doesn’t have the money. America is borrowing the money.
America must pay interest for the money that it borrowed. One day it cannot pay interest no more. That will make America go away from Iraq.
You are not ashamed of the tears when old glory passes by and you honor those that gave their service and their lives to keep us free.
Very good. You have tears in your eyes and you think of the old days. You think of how America was and still could be like that.
Roosevelt turned America in a world power in 1945. All presidents after him destroyed America. They crippled America.
Don’t say what a great nation America is. Because it is not. Figure out what can be done to make America great again.
This I can tell you. John McCain is not going to make America great again. He is going to finish America. Get it on its knees.
Forget about Clinton. She wants to be president no matter what. She doesn’t care about America. She only cares about her own ambitions.
Obama? He is better than the other two but is he the best? I doubt it. I don’t see America improving though Obama.
Oh. I don’t live in America and I don’t want to live in America. Come on now. Living in a country where the tax will go up very fast?
The country where I now live. I don’t like that country either. But the country is much better than America. Far better.
The price of petrol is $ 0.60 per liter. That is far less than what you are paying now. And the price of food is also much lower than what you have got.

Thanks Jos for the comments. I agree that America has fallen from the glory she once had, and I doubt if she will ever regain it. But, when I compare our problems with other countries I still say God Bless The USA!
